Good Evening OHS Families.
Welcome to the 2023 – 2024 school year. I am beyond excited to welcome all of our students back to OHS and am equally excited to meet families from our learning community. I have provided a few bulleted pieces of information for your convenience. A more detailed newsletter will be coming soon.
Open House, 8/15/23, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Regular school day, 8/16/23. Students will follow a special schedule following their schedule until lunch and then grade levels will travel together learning more about/from counselors, the handbook, PBIS and technology.
Students have access to their schedules in skyward. Counselors will be available to make changes and provide copies if necessary.
We look forward to a great school year!
New Olympia teachers spent two days with each other, District administrators, and some veteran teachers getting oriented to Olympia. It is a great group with only four brand new teachers as the others are coming to us with experience in other districts. We ended our time together with a bus tour of all eight communities. Their energy and enthusiasm was impressive!
Family Activity Passes are for sale in the Olympia High School Main Office. All Olympia School District students get into OMS & OHS activities for free. Family Activity Passes are valid at all regular season sporting events at OMS & OHS.

Calling all new or current soccer players!
Thinking about joining an awesome sport?? Never played but want to learn ?? Come join some history in the making with the boys soccer team as they are coming off of a GREAT and HISTORIC season last fall and looking to build on the success as well as have some fun while we are at it!
We are practicing 9:30-11 Wednesday and Thursday this week and then 3:30-5:30 on Friday with a Parent Meeting to follow.
Please bring cleats and shin guards to practice, and make sure you get registered with Mrs. Olson in the front office!

a reminder that football practice starts Monday at 3:00 p.m. Please be registered on 8 to 18 and have an updated physical. Incoming freshman it is not too late to join. if you need equipment please arrive by 2:30. See you Monday #spearsup
Middle school baseball practice for today (Aug 5th) has been cancelled. The parent meeting will now be at the beginning of practice Monday at 3:00. Only one parent needs to attend.
The 23/24 Cross Country season officially starts this coming Monday!! Please contact coach Randi @ randi.Krehbiel@olympia.org or coach Swartzendruber @ Angie.swartzendruber@olympia.org if you have any questions or can't attend practice everyday.

Correction to the the OHS cross country run group. We will not meet this week at all. Practice starts next week 8/7.
More dates to try cross country out before the official season starts. Please come give it a try if you have been considering it. It's a fun atmosphere and a great community of people to call friends!

High School Fall Sports will start Aug. 7th. Please register on 8to18 and have a current physical on file. Cross Country - 8 am, Volleyball - 9 am (middle school gym), Girls Golf - 4 pm, Boys Golf - 8 am, Football - 3:30pm, Girls Swim - 8 am, Boys Soccer - 9:30am.
If you are a high schooler and have been thinking about joining the Cross Country team, here is your chance to try it out without committing!
