Create screen-free times and zones. Help tweens and teens take breaks from tech by limiting screen time in bedrooms, during study time, or at the dinner table. Consider carving out regular family time when screens are either put away or enjoyed together.

Olymia parent and Army National Guard Veteran, Mr. Marc White, was the special guest speaker today at the OHMS Veterans Day assembly. His message focused on connecting the military’s core values with Olympia’s core values, emphasizing the importance of respect, responsibility, and relationships. Several Olympia students shared excerpts stressing the importance of honoring our Veterans. The OHMS choir and band performed the Armed Forces Medley-Pride of America as we recognized the various branches of the military. Over 40 local Veterans attended the assembly including World War II Veteran Mr. Ben Maurer. Thank you to all Veterans for your sacrifices and service.

Screen time; the reality is that there really is no magic number that's "just right." What's more important is the quality of kids' media, how it fits into your family's lifestyle, and how you engage your kids with it. Read more: bit.ly/OlyScreenTime

30 teams fielded the line as the winds gusted abound on the IHSA Class 1A Girls Championship race course. Our Spartans saw rain, mud, and tough racing as they traversed 3 miles at Detweiller Park. Amelia Kistner lead the way followed by Emma Swartzendruber, Abby Litwiller, Chrystal Cornwell, Anna Bieber, Cam Lawson, and Rachel Andris. They all combined to take our team to a 10th place finish and cap off a great season! Results can be found here: https://results.adkinstrak.com/meets/19085/xc-events/666003/results This season now sees several seniors progressing to new things next year. We have loved each and every one of them and what they have provided for this team both on and off the course. They will be fiercely missed as a part of the squad and have left a legacy of kindness, determination, competitive fire, and a whole lot of fun! Thank you Seniors for all that you are and thank you to our Cross Country team for a great and memorable season!
