The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success! Nearly $7000 of books was purchased. Half of that will come back to the library & used to purchase new nonfiction books to support our teacher’s curriculums. Thank you for supporting the book fair & the students of Oly North.

Most kids will encounter mean behavior at some point in their digital lives. For some kids, this experience is a blip that's easily forgotten, while for others it can have deep, long-lasting effects. For parents, the key is staying involved in kids' lives -- both online and off -- so they can step in and offer help if necessary. With guidance from parents and educators, kids can learn how to dodge the drama and stand up for others.
Throughout October we will be sharing 6 different tips for families to encourage best behavior when approaching the topics of Cyberbullying, Digital Drama, and Hate Speech with your families.

Save the date for Olympia’s National Honor Society Halloween Fest!
This year, 5th graders are teaming up with kindergarten students to practice reading fluency. Each Friday, students meet with their buddies in the library. Fifth graders show off their reading fluency while building relationships with the younger students and cultivating their leadership skills. This is a highlight of the week for both 5th graders and kindergarteners!
Elementary science teachers spent some of the institute day working on enhancing their science instruction. The goal is to engage students so they are forced to problem solve and think critically - like scientists!
The Scholastic Book Fair is one week away! Due to the 1/2 day on Wednesday, there has been a slight change in the shopping schedule (attached). The book fair will also be open during P/T Conferences.
