On April 8th, the Olympia High School National Honor Society will be hosting a princess tea party for the district children; there will be games, crafts, karaoke, and much more.
This is the first time that NHS has done an event like this. The members noticed how successful the princess hallway was during Haunted Halls last October, so they decided to make a stand-alone event based on it.
NHS president Kristen Schuette said, “I’m excited because it’s something new, something we’ve never done before, and I want to see what the turnout will be like.”
The princess tea party will be aimed towards the pre-school and elementary age students and will be set up in the OHS cafeteria. A myriad of activities will be featured, including games, crafts, face painting, snacks, a fashion runway, and karaoke. The NHS volunteers will be dressed up as princesses and will interact with the kids at different stations.
NHS director Amanda Hapgood said, “I’m excited to see everybody all dressed up, the transformation of the cafeteria, and the interactions between the kids and volunteers.”
The princess tea party will be hosted on April 8th from 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon. Admission costs $5 per child, and all proceeds go toward the upcoming Relay for Life event. Reservations are required: email amanda.hapgood@olympia.org
