The senior awards banquet took place on Sunday, May 5 and it was a huge success. Most of the senior class attended, dressed as sharp as ever, and were awarded their senior activities plaque.
Seniors names were read off in alphabetical order, along with every activity that student has participated in along the course of their high school career. The senior walked up to the stage and received their senior activities plaque, which lists all of their activities.
Like all banquets, the seniors were treated to a nice dinner of prime rib, chicken, steamed vegetables, and a baked potato. There was also a wide variety of desserts donated from local restaurants around the area like the Country Aire and the Palms Grill Cafe.
Why seniors should attend the banquet? Lane Miller said, ”It is your senior year and you only have to go one time. You also get to see the newest Hall of Fame inductees which gives you good motivation to strive to do well in life.”
“We work hard all through high school doing activities and being busy and it’s nice to be recognized in front of peers, teachers, and members of the community,” said Kelsey Lessen.
“The food was even better than I expected. The chicken was my favorite part and I was very full by the end of the night,” said Grace Litwiller.
When asked if she plans on attending the banquet again, Olivia Forrest said,” I hope to attend again someday for the Hall of Fame portion of the event.” Forrest had a very successful swimming career, breaking 10 Olympia records.
Though this banquet is not mandatory, most seniors highly recommend attending this banquet. It is a great event to earn some recognition for all the hours spent participating over the last four years.
