Based on L. Frank Baum's classic story in which Dorothy Gale (Anna Kindred), a young
girl who lives on a farm in Kansas with her Aunt Em (Sophia Thomas) and Uncle Henry
(Brody Neuhaus), finds that her vivid imagination clashes with their steadfast Kansas
farmer outlook on life. Longing for a life somewhere “where people just don’t worry
about anything,” Dorothy gets caught up in the tornado and is whisked away to the Land
of Oz, where, with the help of The Good Sorceress (Julia Collins), the Scarecrow (Davis
Rogers), the Tin Woodsman (Michael Bagby), and the Cowardly Lion (Reid Kelly), she
makes the long journey to find the Wizard of Oz (Ainsley Mahoney) to beg him to send
her back home to Kansas.
The cast is rounded out by a baker’s dozen of Olympia 4th and 5th graders staring as
delightful and awe-struck Munchkins.
