The OHS boys track team had 14 personal best performances and placed 6th at the 12-team Rochester Invite yesterday. Top performers were:
Logan Demling, Jacob Lawless, Wyatt Reinhart, & Cooper Phillips-3rd in the 4x800 relay in a season best time 9:02.43
Nolen Yeary-2nd in the shot put with an all-time best 46' 8".
Keagan Uphoff- 2nd in the high jump, 3rd in the 110 high hurdles, and 3rd in the 300 hurdles.
Sophomore Cohen Alexander- 1st place in the 100 meter dash with an all-time best 11.37 seconds (into a headwind)!!
Congratulations to Madison Bales (Heartland C.C.), Abby Litwiller (Binghamton), Cam Lawson (North Central), Anna Bieber (Eastern Illinois) and Chrystal Cornwell (Berea) on their college commitments to further their academic and running careers.
Kyla Birky scores from 1st base on Lydia Rutledge's RBI double in the bottom of the 4th inning and Danika Frazier with a solo home run in the 6th as Spartans softball defeated Auburn 2-0 to remain undefeated in the conference at 4-0. Frazier with a 1-hitter, striking out 12.
The volleyball player/parent meeting scheduled for Sunday April 23rd at Oly North in Danvers has been postponed. A new date and time will be announced later.

Jordyn Turner with the walk-off base hit in bottom of the 7th inning as Spartans softball defeats Pontiac 2-1. Shelby Finchum with a RBI game tying single in the 6th. Danika Frazier with five strikeouts, allowing three hits and one unearned run. JV defeated Pontiac 5-1.

The high school volleyball player/parent meeting has been rescheduled for April 23rd at 2:00pm at Olympia North Gym in Danvers.
The varsity and JV Softball games scheduled for today against Pontiac are postponed to tomorrow April 18th at Olympia at 4:30pm. We will now play varsity only softball with Riverton on Monday April 24th at 4:30pm.
The JV and Varsity Baseball games scheduled for today April 17th at Olympia vs. Pontiac have been cancelled due to wet field conditions.

The OHS girls track team rallied after a crazy Thursday and not knowing until late Friday morning if they would be able to get their track stuff from inside the school and make it to our meet. It t was a beautiful night with perfect weather for the Unity girls Invitational. The Oly girls brought home 4th place out of 15 teams. The girls had numerous PR’s including our 4x4 team of Anna Bieber, Grace Whiteside, Mallory Miller and Melissa Bieber running a super fast 4:11 to secure 1st place! Also worth mentioning is our 4x2 and 4x8 relay placing in the top 6!

The OHS boys' track team took advantage of nearly perfect conditions last night at the 18-team Monticello Invitational to set a total of 24 personal record performances. The Spartans were 6th place as a team with 54 points. Top performers:
Chase Ragar- 4th in the triple jump at 40' 4.5"
Nolan Yeary- 6th in the shot put at 44' 8.5"
Reygan Sitton- 5th in the 100 at 11.33
Cooper Phillips- 5th in the 300 hurdles at 44.86
Keagan Uphoff- 2nd in the HJ at 6' 0" and 2nd in the 300 hurdles at 40.77 and 1st in the 110 hurdles at 15.77.

Activities Update for today. - No practice or games today for Baseball, Soccer or Middle school Track. Softball will play at Eureka Middle School Field at 4:30pm. HS Boys Track will be at Monticello and HS Girls Track will be at Tolono.
Updates: All OHMS students have now either left campus to drive home or have evacuated to Minier Christian Church. Parents, you must pick up your children from the designated evacuation location at Minier Christian Church. Lines for pick up are long, so please be patient as all of the necessary evacuation procedures are followed. At Minier Christian Church you will be greeted by an adult and must present an ID to pick up your child(ren). No individuals will be allowed on the OHMS campus for the rest of the day. Fire officials will be on site all evening completing their necessary work.
More information will be shared soon regarding the status of the building and plans for school operations tomorrow.
All after school events at Olympia CUSD 16 have been cancelled for this evening due the the fire at the OHMS campus.
Two school records go down this morning. Congratulations to Sarah Cross who broke our school record in the squat with a lift of 295 lbs, and to Blaine Halley who broke our school record in the bench press with a lift of 380 lbs!!!
Olympia would like to welcome Jon Rask as our new Head Volleyball coach. Jon brings more than 15 years of experience with him, most recently at Central Illinois Elite in Peoria. There will be a player/parent meeting on April 15th at 11:00am in the OHS cafeteria.
