It was another windy meet for the Oly High School Girls Track Team as they traveled to Tolono for the Unity Girls Invite on Thursday afternoon. Competing against strong athletes from 17 different teams, the girls rose to the occasion and delivered impressive performances despite challenging conditions.
We had a lot of top 6 finishers and a season best:
The 4x8 (Amelia, Mira, Kaylie and Emma) placed 4th
Gabby placed 6th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.2
Charlee placed 3rd in the 400
The 4x1 relay team ( Mya, Charlee, Madyson and Gabby) placed 6th
The 4x2 relay team (Annaston, Madyson, Mya and Gabby) placed 6th
The 4x4 relay team (Charlee, Mira, Amelia and Emma) placed 2nd
Sidney beavers achieved a season best in the 1600m run.
Overall, it was a strong showing for the team, with many athletes improving their performances and continuing to build momentum for the rest of the season.



Today's Activities


Varsity softball falls to Rochester 5-4 in 8 innings at home on Thursday afternoon. Gabby Frye led the Spartans offensively and in the circle, going 4-4 with a 2-run home run and 4 RBIs., allowing 5 run (1 earned) with 10 strikeouts. Morgan Huffington had two hits. Brooklyn Komnick with a pinch-hit double in the 7th inning. The Lady Spartans fall to 8-4-1 overall. JV softball with a 2-0 victory.

Varsity baseball grabs a 3-2 8 inning win vs Central Catholic tonight. LaBelle(2H, 2RBI). Dabney, Hohulin, and Birky with a hit apiece. Dabney(5IP, 1ER, 4K's). B. Tackett(3IP, 1ER, 2K's) picks up the win in relief. Spartans are home Friday vs 3A #3 East Peoria at 4:30.

On Tuesday April 15th, the Olympia High School Girls Track Team showed UP at the 9-team Maroa-Forsyth meet — taking 1st place overall earning 125 points.
Let’s talk highlights:
The wind was brutal but this girls team didn’t let that get them down:
Charlee Durham launched a massive PR in long jump — 4.97m (16+ ft!) — snagging 1st place!
Anna Gordon and Khloe Scheets crushed it with PRs in discus, and Khloe doubled up with another PR in shot put!
First-place finishes all around:
4x800: Amelia, Mira, Kaylie & Emma
4x400: Annaston, Mira, Charlee & Emma
800m: Emma Swartzendruber
200m: Gabby Dickhut
Every race, every throw, every jump — these girls delivered. The wind may have been tough, but Olympia was tougher.

Varsity softball's 7th inning rally falls just short as the Lady Spartans lose to conference foe Williamsville 7-6 at home. Down by five in the bottom of the 7th, Finley Hoffman and Gabby Frye both drew walks, an RBI single by Eva Ortiz scored pinch runner Mikenna Hill. Khloe Chenoweth followed with a 3-run blast of the left field fence. Eva Ortiz collected two hits for game. Myra Books also with an RBI single. Gabby Frye took the pitching loss, allowing 7 runs (5 earned) while striking out 10. JV softball with a 6-3 loss to Williamsville JV.

The Lady Spartans with 15 hits, led by Eva Ortiz (3 hits, double, 3 RBIs), Lydia Rutledge (3 hits, RBI, 3 runs scored), Lily Gordon (2 hits, double, 3 RBIs), Gabby Frye (2 hits, 2 RBIs), Finley Hoffman (2 hits, RBI), Khloe Chenoweth (2 hits). Gabby Frye picked up her eighth win of the season in the circle, scattering 3 hits with 8 strikeouts. The Lady Spartans improve to 8-2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. JV picked up a 16-1 win to improve to 4-4.
