The Central Illinois Down Syndrome Organization (CIDSO) works to recognize teachers and para pros during National Inclusive Schools Week (Dec. 2-6). They honor educators who work hard to promote inclusion at their school. Cynthia Scott was recognized on Monday, December 2, 2019 for being a "difference maker" at Olympia North. Cynthia works as an aide with McKale Marquis at ONE. Cynthia was given this award for her efforts to allow McKale opportunities to participate in the typical classroom, with her typical peers as much as possible. McKale's parents and teachers know this is not always easy, but they appreciate Cynthia always doing it with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart. McKale has had a wonderful school year thus far, and that success is largely in part to Cynthia's support in the classroom. A successful school year leads to less stress and anxiety for everyone, and allows McKale opportunities to be successful alongside her classmates. Thank you Cynthia for everything to do for McKale and all of the students at ONE!
