Several OMS teachers became certified Restorative Practice trainers after attending the Restorative Practices seminar the week of June 11th led by Mr. Kevin Jones. OMS received a grant from ROE 17 that covered one week of Restorative Practices training and materials, in which teachers learned practices and role-played scenarios focusing on strengthening relationships between individuals, as well as social connections within communities.
The Olympia District would like to thank Dr. Diane Wolf for her many years of commitment and dedication to both staff and students in Region 17. We wish her the best of luck with her next journey in education!
OMS track had a fantastic weekend at the state track meet. Effort, Passion and Teamwork was second to none!! Owen Dare finished 5th in the 800 meters today.
Taylor Nowaskie competed in the AA 8th Grade Girls Long Jump at the 2018 IESA State Championships. She placed 5th among 32 athletes and recieved a medal for her efforts. Her jump of 16’ 2.75” came on her final jump of prelims and earned her a spot in the finals. This jump was also a personal record and a great way to end the season. Myself and the rest of the coaching staff are very proud of Taylor’s efforts over the season and this result is indicative of her strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
