7th grade students in Mrs. Hembra's English I class put their point of view skills to the test today by reading and analyzing a variety of children's books. While reading each book with their groups, students were asked to identify the point of view of each text, then explain how they knew. All types of point of view were covered within the seven different texts. A class favorite was Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey, a first-person text about a selfish pug named Pig and his friend, Trevor. This activity was a quick and engaging way to review the various points of view that writers and readers encounter.
