Congrats to the OHS guys' track team members that competed at the state meet this past Friday and apologies for this not being posted earlier. Even though the performances fell short of some of their own expectations, the experiences will prove to be valuable down the road for the young crew of athletes that competed at Charleston on the big blue track at Eastern Illinois University. Spartan competitors included Nolen Yeary finishing 26th in the shot put(46'9.5"); Chase Ragar finishing thirty seventh in the triple jump (39'9"), Cohen Alexander finishing 28th in the 400(53.28); Kaden Wilcox, Kaleb Jacobs, Cooper Phillips, and Tyler Gellner finishing 37th in the 4x400 relay(3:47.21); and Keagan Uphoff finishing 11th in the 110 hurdles(missing finals by 0.15 seconds), and qualifying for finals in the high jump and 300 hurdles. Great job guys on an incredible season and the Olympia community is very proud of you!

We had one athlete competing on day 2 of the IESA State Track & Field Final, and as a result, we had ANOTHER Oly athlete earning a spot on the podium in East Peoria!
Standout athlete Mili Rebbe, shaved 5 seconds off her PR from Sectionals and peaked at just the perfect time to earn 7th in the 800m with a time of 2:29.51!
With that, the 7th grade girls placed 12th as a team, which is an incredible accomplishment considering that we only had two girls competing in the division.
That's a wrap for the season, and what a season it was!! The future is bright for these kiddos and Oly Track and Field! #SpartanPride

It was a bitter sweet end to the 23/24 track season at IHSA State meet in Charleston yesterday. Even though no one made it out of prelims these girls have had a heck of a season and should be proud of themselves. It was amazing they made it and got to experience State. For those that are back next year I hope it keeps them wanting more and to return to Charleston next year. To the seniors, I wish you all the best as you keep moving towards your new goals!

The 8th grade class worked hard during their stewardship day on Friday to help prepare the school grounds for high school graduation. They also created a flower bed by the middle school featuring art work from our middle school art classes. What a great example of #SpartanStrong!

We may have been few in numbers, but Olympia was well represented on the podium in East Peoria on Day 1 of the IESA State Track and Field Finals.
Starting the day, Lucy Prestegaard threw a post season best 9.61m in the shot put, finishing 2nd!
Our distance runners came out strong, starting with Mili Rebbe beating her season PR in the 1600m by more than 12 seconds, finishing 5th in a strong 7th grade field with a time of 5:23.58.
Shortly after, Mira Kistner finished her middle school track career on an incredibly high note, beating her season PR in the 1600m by more than 15 seconds, finishing 4th with a time of 5:33.25.
Ty Gale finished 14th in the 7th grade 1600 meter run, with a time 5:18.55, just a couple seconds off his career best mark that he earned last weekend.
Returning to state for a second year in a row, Annaston Piro placed 10th in the 8th grade long jump with a distance of 14'9.75".
And last, but not least, let's make some noise for our 2024 State Championship and State Record Holder in the 100 meter Wheelchair Division, Rae Lemons, finishing with a time of 26.99.
