Olympia’s very own softball star, Kendra Peifer, committed to University of Illinois Springfield last January of 2016; this is a Division 2 school where Peifer will continue her softball career.
Excelling in both basketball and softball, Peifer knew early on that softball was the sport she wanted to play. By committing her junior year, Peifer was determined to continue her softball career.
UIS was not the only school in the running for her. Peifer was getting offers from Cornell, Colverstockten, Heartland and ICC.
“UIS felt like home and they also have a very good psychology program,” said Peifer.
Peifer has been playing softball for over ten years. Yet she is very excited about taking her career to the next level.
“I cannot wait to be apart of the college experience and getting to compete at college level,” said Peifer.
Peifer’s goals for the future include studying Neuropsychology and minoring in exercise science. One day she plans to open her own Neuropsychology program and work with athletes.
Being an excelling student and athlete, Peifer will succeed at UIS. Best of luck!
