Olympia High School Principal Dr. Ed Jodlowski presented this year’s State Scholars for special recognition from the Board.  Student test scores and class ranks are converted to Illinois Standard Test Scores (ISTS) and Illinois Standard Rank Scores.  From those scores, an Illinois Weighted Selection Score (WSS) cutoff is determined by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).  Students with an ISTS of 30 or higher are automatically designated as State Scholars.  Students with an ISTS lower than 30 but who have a WSS greater than or equal to the cutoff score of 49 are also designated as State Scholars.  2016-2017 State Scholars are:  Matthew Althoff, Reagan Brown, Jared Cline, Hannah Deuel, Cara Geurts, Alyssa Halliday, Samantha Mitchell, Maci Pfeffer, Sierra Priebe, Shelby Siltman, Emma Spracklen, Dawson Swindle, Alyssa Tripod, Jenna Wood, and Jessica Wyse.
