The Olympia girl’s cross-country team has successfully reached their goal of qualifying for the IHSA State meet.  The girls finished 3rd in the Elmwood Sectional this past Saturday.  There were 21 teams including the #2, #5, #7, and #22 ranked teams in the state.  Olympia, ranked 8th, finished better than the rankings predicted.  Shelby Siltman, for the second straight year, won the individual title in a time of 18:11.  Mary Grace Cleinmark was Olympia’s 2nd girl, she finished in 28th place, then Payton Wille came across the line in 31st place, Renee Hallstein and Hannah Lawless finished in 39th and 42 place to round out Olympia’s scoring.  Jadyn Talbert and Sydnee Usherwood finished in 52nd and 58th place.  The IHSA State meet will be held at Detweiller Park in Peoria this coming Saturday.  Olympia will run in the Class A race which will start a 9am.

Olympia’s lone competitor in the boy’s race was Senior Kyle Rader.  Kyle had a great race as he finished 3rd out of the 153 competitors from 33 different schools.  This puts Kyle in an elite group of Olympia runners that have qualified for state as an individual.  He is the first since 2005.  This Saturday Kyle will run at 10am in the
