Olympia North Student Council were invited to visit Country
Financial to listen to business leaders. The goal of the trip was to
gain a better understanding of leadership. Student Council members
learned about branding for a company and how that correlates with
branding themselves as a leader. There was an opportunity for the
students to ask questions from Country leaders. They learned about
leading where they are now and the difference between being a boss and a
leader. Students also learned about activities they can participate in
now to develop their leadership skills.
After Country, Student Council members ventured to Escape
Bloomington. They were put in the scenario of a family vacation, but
they lost their plane tickets to get home. Students were able to solve
the issues presented to them by working together and solving clues. Only
38% of groups are able to finish the challenge presented to these
students, and they finished in 48 minutes!
They ended their day away with lunch and headed back to school full of enthusiasm to be leaders at Olympia North!
A huge thank you to Mrs. McNalis for organizing this event for our Student Council members!
