Olympia FFA had five members compete at the District 2 FFA Proficiency
competition on Wednesday, March 9th, at Joliet Junior College.
Hoerbert (Diversified Agriculture), Carson Goff (Beef Production
Entrepreneurship), Genna VanWye (Beef Production Placement), Gannon
Springer (Swine Production Entrepreneurship), and Nate Weihmeir (Grain
Production Entrepreneurship) each placed 2nd in their agricultural area.
By placing 2nd they are among the top 10 individuals in the State of Illinois for their ag career area.
These students have kept financial and production records on their projects.
The records were evaluated by a panel of judges and then students interviewed to show their knowledge of their career area.
This has been an awesome experience for each member and reflects highly on their hard work and dedication to their projects.
Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor, Bryce Hoffman stated, “I’m very proud of these students who have excelled with their projects!
These experiences will set them apart in their future endeavors.
Each of these students plan to continue their education in agriculture and will be a part of the agriculture industry.
The future looks bright for agriculture!”
