This is the image for the news article titled Celebrating Dr. Seuss with Ms. Metz's Second Grade ClassMs. Metz's second grade class at Olympia South Elementary honored Dr. Seuss with a week long celebration.  Each day had its own theme which corresponded to a Dr. Seuss book:  Monday was Beach Day (The Sneetches), Tuesday was Wear Green (Green Eggs and Ham), Wednesday was Wacky Dress Day (Wacky Wednesday), Thursday was Hat Day (Cat in the Hat and 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins) and Friday was Pajama Day (Curl up with a Dr. Suess Book Day). pic 1 We did many activities revolving around Dr. Seuss as well.  We created our own Thing 1 and Thing 2, wrote in a Dr. Seuss journal, learned all about Dr. Seuss's life by reading his biography, compared Dr. Seuss books to the video clips, graphed our favorite Dr. Seuss books, created our own One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, we wrote about all the places we would go on hot air balloons, and many other fun activities.  Ms. Metz's students read over 107 Dr. Seuss books on their own!!!  We had fun reading and learning about Dr. Seuss!pic 2
