D.A.R.E. Graduation at Olympia West

Graduation at Olympia West    The 5th grade students at Olympia West completed their semester-long D.A.R.E. program at Olympia West with a culmination ceremony on January 19th.  The D.A.R.E. program is co-sponsored by the Olympia School District and the Minier Police Department with the support of numerous businesses and area civic organizations. 

     Students received instruction on the dangers of drugs, decision making skills, bullying, and tools to resist peer pressure and other negative temptations.  The program is taught by Chief Daryl Weseloh of the Minier Police Department.

     Several students were recognized for their exceptional efforts on their written essays and final written tests.  The class also performed two different songs for those in attendance.

     Each student was given a D.A.R.E. t-shirt provided by the Hopedale Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Lodge.
