During the month of February, eighth graders studied the
Great Depression. This unit of study culminated in a cross-curricular
simulation on February 23. In each one of the students' core curricular
classes, students looked at the Great Depression from a different angle.
Many students participated by dressing as historical characters during
the Great Depression during the simulation. In addition, each student
was assigned a profession and they worked to develop historical empathy
by imagining what life might have been like during the Great Depression.
