The Olympia FFA Chapter competed at the Section 9 FFA Proficiency Judging contest on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Pontiac Township High School. Record books for each Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) were judged by a panel and then interviewed. Students were evaluated on record keeping skills and their knowledge demonstrated through the interview process. Olympia had five students win their respective divisions and advance to the district contest in early March. Winners included: Carson Goff-Beef Production Entrepreneurship, Bailey Hoerbert-Diversified Ag Production, Genna VanWye-Beef Production Placement, Gannon Springer-Swine Production Entrepreneurship, and Nate Weihmeir-Grain Production Entrepreneurship. Kelsey Slager placed third in Equine Entrepreneurship. These students have spent countless hours working on their SAE projects and have gained valuable experience in the agriculture industry. We wish them the best of luck at the district competition.
