Bloomington Thunder Ice Hockey Teams skated into Olympia West this week. Students had just completed their floor hockey unit in Mrs. Braffet’s PE classes. “This
is a great way for students to see the skills they have learned in the
classroom being performed by others on a larger scale”, stated Mrs.
Students were called down to try on Bloomington Thunder’s uniforms. They explained the need for safety and fitness level in order to play at their level. “Sleep is one important issue that all players and students need”, commented one Thunder Player. “We try to get a minimum of 7-8 hours a night so our bodies can work better when it has had enough sleep.” They went onto discuss their fitness programs and how eating can affect their performance.
Students all received a free ticket to Olympia West Night, January 8th, 2016. Students then finished up with a scrimmage against the Thunder. Mr. Dale acted as goalie for Olympia West, and students gave The Bloomington Thunder a workout.
A Big Thank You to Mr. Nordstrom, Mrs. Wampler and the players of The Bloomington Thunder Ice Hockey Team.
