Olympia High and Middle School welcomed approximately 30 Veteran’s on November 11th at 8:30 AM.  The assembly began with the playing of American the Beautiful by the OHS band.  Everyone was then greeted by student council president, Alyssa Halliday.  The National Anthem was sung by the Chamber Choir.  OHS students were treated to a history of Veteran’s Day by Shannon Mohr and Dallas Spencer introduced our guest of honor, Mrs. Sarah Nannen.  Mrs. Nannen is the widow of the late Major Reid Nannen, a 2000 graduate of Olympia High School.  Finally various readings were done about Veteran’s Day from essays written by students like Grayson VanWye, Kaia Morris, Rianna White, Alyssa Casey, Aurora Bauer, and Bailey Hoerbort.  The OHS Band and OHMS Chorus sang Armed Forces—The Pride of America!  Olympia Middle and High School says thanks to all our veterans!
