The Olympia District would like to show appreciation for Olympia North Elementary Principal, Mr. Ben Lee.  Ben grew up in Waynesville and graduated from Olympia.  Ben received his education at Illinois State University and then taught health and PE teacher for District 50 in Washington, IL.  In 2012, Ben came back to his alma mater and became Principal of Olympia North Elementary.  Ben and his family reside in rural Danvers.

Principal Lee is committed to professional development for his staff and he has the same expectation for himself.   Ben has been working on his doctorate at Illinois State University.  Last year Principal Lee was awarded the Illinois Association of School Administrators Moon Scholarship as an aspiring District Administrator.  He also received a scholarship through the Illinois School Board Association for his commitment to leadership and development.

Mr. Lee is always involved and aware of where his students are in the learning process.  His concern for students and staff is evident.  Mr. Lee can often be found participating with students in classroom activities or discussing topics at lunch.  He is a great leader and role model for the students and staff of Olympia North Elementary.  Thank you Mr. Lee for being such a wonderful leader!
