The Olympia District would like to show appreciation for Olympia Middle School Principal, Mr. Andy Walsh.  Mr. Walsh has been with the District since August of 2006 where he started as an OHS social studies teacher.  Principal Walsh also served his district by coaching football.  In the 2010-11 school year, Mr. Walsh became OMS Principal.

Mr. Walsh is highly respected in the area and has been sought out to present at several local and state conferences over the past few years.  Principal Walsh is currently working on his doctorate at Illinois State University.  He resides with his family in rural Danvers, and his children attend the Olympia School District.

Mr. Walsh has made a major impact on the teachers, staff and students of Olympia Middle School.  Here is what 6th Grade Teacher, Crystal Thompson had to say about her Principal: “Mr. Andrew Walsh, principal of Olympia Middle School, puts the 'pal' in principal.  Although he maintains professionalism and is a natural born leader, Mr. Walsh is an advocate, an approachable individual who is not only willing, but makes an effort to support both students and staff at OMS. He truly lives up to Olympia's mission statement to "....inspire, educate, and challenge students to achieve personal success."  That truth doesn't pertain to students only, but staff as well.  When Mr. Walsh encourages others to ‘work together to make tomorrow better than today,’ he requests the task of himself, as well.  Thank you, Mr. Walsh, for going the extra mile for your Olympia Middle School family.”

Principal Walsh has given nearly a decade to the students and families of the Olympia School District, and we appreciate his dedication and service.
