The Olympia District would like to show appreciation for Olympia High School Assistant Principal, Matt Hurley.  Mr. Hurley is starting his tenth year with the District.  He began as a business teacher at Olympia High School.  During his teaching career at Olympia, Matt also served has Vice President of Teacher’s Association, Middle School Boys Basketball Coach, and Junior Varsity Girls Basketball Coach.  Mr. Hurley gave up those extra assignments to work on his Master’s in Educational Leadership, and upon receiving his degree, in 2011 became Assistant Principal at Olympia High School.

Mr. Hurley has been a great addition to the OHS Administration team.  He is a very hard-working, dedicated employee.  He is also very friendly, outgoing, patient and understanding which serves him well as the Assistant Principal when helping parents and students on a daily basis. 

Mr. Hurley is committed to continued professional development for the teaching staff, and also expects the same for himself.  Matt is working on his doctorate of Education at Illinois State University.  Assistant Principal Hurley resides in rural Danvers with his family and his children attend Olympia North Elementary.  Olympia High School is very thankful for all that Mr. Hurley has done over the years for students, staff, and families!
